’13 Christmas Parade & Open House

On Saturday, December 14, 2013 here at Jake E’s Riding Round Up in Kaufman we held our 2nd Annual Christmas Celebration. Our Jake E’s Leadership wanted to put a slightly different twist on our Holiday Celebration in 2013 and elected to spotlight our riders and our beautiful ranch facility to the community-at-large with an Open House and two Christmas Parades held during the day long celebration.

The event was an impressive success with more than 200 people attended our 2013 Jake E’s Christmas Parade and Open House, where they learned about our therapeutic work and riders. Open House attendees enjoyed two parades which illuminated the Birth of our Lord with a live nativity complete with a donkey, glorious angels, mini horses and even our Jake E’s goats adorned sheep costumes keeping with the festive atmosphere.

signOur Equine Therapists (therapeutic riding horses) decorated with colorful glitter, bows and garlands were among the most popular feature in the Parades. Each Equine Therapist had their stall door adorned with a Christmas wreath which was sporting a boot stocking and donation envelopes in an effort to raise funds for our general operating fund.

Many of our Jake E’s riders created their own costume for the 2nd Annual Christmas Celebration including festive hats and clothing. Face painting and Christmas-oriented art projects were available for everyone to enjoy in the Welcome Center as well as guided tours for those from the community unfamiliar with the Jake E’s Riding Round Up facility. Our prayer garden was beautiful with lights, a nativity and music for those that wanted to enjoy a few minutes of solitude and prayer time. Warm hot chocolate and a yummy Bring Your Favorite Desert bar was a well-received treat enjoyed by all and helped make the 2nd Annual Jake E’s Christmas Celebration a huge success.
