2016 Chuck Wagon Fundraiser

The annual Jake E’s Riding Round Up “Chuck Wagon Dinner & Auction Fundraiser” was held Saturday, April 9th, 2016. We appreciate all that came out to support Jake E’s and make it such a success in spite of the overnight change in weather.

The official greeters had so much fun greeting everyone with a great big HOWDY! It was raining off and on so only the brave took advantage of the Welcome Wagon Photo Shoot. Cowboy hats, ropes, vest, bandanas and other props were available to dress up and take pictures in front of a real Chuck Wagon. Learning to “twirl a six shooter” was another activity that was enjoyed by children and even some adults. Everyone enjoyed visiting, as always with the equine staff and our petting barn. The Welcome Center Porch was a busy place checking in everyone that was excited to start bidding on all the wonderful items in the Silent Auction. The information table was busy answering questions selling T-Shirts, Sweatshirts and Note Cards.

When the Silent Auction ended and the weather cleared, everyone headed towards the arena for the program. They were all hoping they had the final bid on the items they liked.

Our guests were seated on bales of hay as they watched the program consisting of alternating segments of Live Auction and Introduction of our Riders as they rode in the arena. We didn’t get to share some of the riders’s special stories and we had to rush the auction because of the weather. Everyone headed for the barn to get out of the rain and line up for our delicious authentic cowboy cooking of Brisket, Sausage, Chicken with all the trimmings and of course Chocolate cake, Peach cobbler and Homemade Ice Cream.

We sang “Happy Birthday” to Dave one of our awesome volunteers and presented him with a Birthday Cookie!

We also presented Tim Casbeer and his family with a photo of their son, Blake, that will be placed in the Welcome Center in his memory. Blake was killed less than a month after he and his family attended last year’s fundraiser. He connected with one of the horses and told everyone that he “felt like he was where he was meant to be, in the country with horses”. Tim is the manager of Nevill Document Solutions and they are one of our Gold Sponsors. Thank you for supporting us and allowing us to support you.

Jake E’s want to thank all our Volunteers, Instructors, Parents, Our Great Office Staff, Special Grounds Manager, the Auction Team from Country Bible and everyone that worked so hard to get everything ready and those who worked the day of event. We would also like to thank our Board Members, Sponsors and Businesses that donated items for auction. It takes everyone working together, to make this happen!

A special thank you to our “Anonymous” Matching Donor Gift of $5000.00. Thank you for you generosity we were able to go above the matching donation challenge.

The weather showed all how much we need the Covered Arena!  Thank you to all who came out and weathered the storm.

Thank you to our April 9th 2016 Chuckwagon Sponsors!
